Organize and Maintain These Spaces to Avoid Burnout
How Your Closet, Pantry, and Desk Can Support the Life You're Becoming
Have you ever noticed how much harder it is to feel clear, focused, or creative when your space is chaotic?
You try to plan your day, but your desk is a mess. You want to nourish your body, but your pantry is cluttered with things you don’t even recognize. Or you’re rushing out the door, staring into a closet packed with clothes that don’t fit your body—or your life anymore.
I’ve been there too. And what I’ve learned, both personally and through coaching clients, is this: The state of your space is a mirror for your habits—and your habits are shaping the version of you that you are becoming.
That’s why in my Stress Less Method, the Becoming stage is all about designing habits that align with your next level of wellbeing. And one of the most powerful (yet overlooked) areas to begin? Your physical environment.
In this post, I’ll show you how three simple spaces—your closet, pantry, and desk—can become tools for clarity, calm, and yes, abundance.
✨ Your Spaces Reflect Who You're Becoming
We often treat organizing as a one-time project. But in reality, the way we maintain our space is a reflection of how we honor ourselves daily. When we create environments that support peace and purpose, we send a clear message to our brains: I am safe, I am focused, and I am worthy of ease. When we live in clutter, we reinforce feelings of stress, confusion, or even self-neglect—without realizing it.
These three spaces—your closet, pantry, and desk—carry outsized influence because they’re places of daily decision-making. They affect how you start your day, how you fuel your body, and how you focus your energy. According to environmental psychology research, clutter in the home has been shown to increase cortisol levels (your stress hormone), reduce working memory, and trigger avoidance behaviors.¹ In contrast, clean and organized spaces support executive functioning and emotional regulation.² Simply put: your environment can either drain your energy—or help you manage it wisely.
The goal isn’t perfection. It’s alignment. When our habits support our healing, we begin to attract what we’ve been praying for—because we’re finally creating space to hold it.
🌿 3 Everyday Spaces That Shape Your Habits and Abundance
1. Closet = Confidence
Your closet isn’t just where your clothes live—it’s where your identity begins each morning. If it’s overflowing with items that no longer fit your body, season, or lifestyle, it’s likely pulling you backward. Here’s how to reclaim it:
Keep only what fits your body and the life you’re creating.
Hang an affirmation inside the door like, “I dress like I love myself.”
Take 10 minutes each month to let go of items that no longer represent you.
When your closet is clear and curated, you begin your day from a place of intention, not frustration. You step into the world aligned with who you’re becoming—not the version of you that you’ve outgrown.
2. Pantry = Energy
A chaotic pantry makes healthy choices harder to access and contributes to decision fatigue. When your pantry supports nourishment, you make empowered decisions with ease.
Reset your pantry with this mindset:
Clear out expired, energy-draining foods.
Use clear containers to display your go-to staples.
Create a “Feel Good Fuel” shelf—placing energizing, nourishing options at eye level.
Your pantry doesn’t need to look like a magazine. It just needs to make it easy for you to reach for what makes you feel strong and supported. When your nutrition is aligned, your energy rises—and so does your belief in what’s possible.
3. Desk = Vision
Your desk is where you do your thinking, dreaming, and creating. If it’s cluttered, your thoughts probably are too. Here’s how to transform it into a space of clarity:
End each day with a 3-minute desk reset—papers away, surfaces cleared.
Keep one grounding item: a candle, a quote card, or a plant.
Write out your top 3 priorities for the next day and leave them visible.
A clear desk = a clear channel. You’re not just cleaning a surface—you’re making space for your next breakthrough.
🧠 The Bigger Shift: From Chaos to Clarity
Decluttering your closet, pantry, or desk isn’t just about appearances. It’s about creating a structure that supports your expansion.
Every time you organize one of these spaces, you reinforce a new identity. You’re not the person who tolerates clutter and confusion anymore. You’re becoming someone who lives with clarity, care, and conscious intention.
That’s what the Becoming stage of the Stress Less Method is all about. You begin to act, live, and think like the woman you’re ready to be. Not because you forced it, but because your habits began to align with your healing.
💬 Try This: A 3-Space Reset Challenge
If you’re ready to experience the power of space clarity for yourself, try this mini challenge:
Closet: Remove 5 items you no longer wear or love.
Pantry: Organize one shelf and label it “Feel Good Fuel.”
Desk: Do a 3-minute reset at the end of your workday.
These tiny shifts may seem small, but they’re creating a powerful ripple. You are declaring: I am ready. I am aligned. I am becoming.
